Bernard Dampson is a distinguished Cyber and Information Security professional with over 18 years of experience in Information Technology and more than a decade of expertise in Information Security Management. He currently serves as the Head of Cyber and Information Security at the Central Securities Depository (GH) Ltd., where he leads the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive cybersecurity programs aligned with international standards such as ISO 27001.

Mr. Dampson’s leadership has been instrumental in strengthening organizational resilience, enhancing risk management frameworks, and achieving multiple ISO 27001 certifications and transitions. He has overseen vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and the establishment of business continuity and disaster recovery plans that have significantly improved institutional security posture.

Prior to his current role, he served as Information Security Manager at the Central Securities Depository (2013–2025), where he directed key security initiatives and awareness programs that trained over 100 employees annually. He also worked as Management Advisor and Consultant (Information Security) at Global Secure Solutions, providing expert guidance on ISMS implementation, cybersecurity governance, and risk management for various clients. His earlier career includes roles as IT Officer at CSD, Director at Flashy Concepts, NOC Technician at K-Net Ltd., and Teaching Assistant at the University of Ghana.

Mr. Dampson’s academic background includes a Master of Science (MSc) in Management Information Systems from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Ghana. He has further enhanced his professional expertise with certifications from Harvard VPAL in Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age and the State University of New York in International Cyber Conflicts.

A certified Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) by the EC-Council, Mr. Dampson also holds several globally recognized credentials, including ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and Implementer, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), and ISO 22301 Lead Implementer in Business Continuity Management.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation in cybersecurity. His approach combines strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of organizational governance, policy development, and information risk management.
