Dr. Ismaila Hansmittson Awudu is the Founder and General Overseer of REMI Church Worldwide and the CEO of the Hans African Policy, Research, Leadership, and Governance Institute (HAPLGRI)—a policy, governance, leadership, research, social intervention, church development, and capacity-building institution. He holds a degree in Theology from Central University College, two Master’s degrees—MPhil in Global Leadership from the University of Professional Studies, Legon, and MPhil from Walden University, Minneapolis, USA—and a PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University, Minneapolis, USA. He is a certified member of the Institute of Directors Ghana and an Independent Consultant of Wealth Masters Group UK in the area of Leadership and Governance.

He served as a member of the Security Council of Adenta Constituency (2014–2016) under H.E. John Dramani Mahama, where he contributed to stability, development, and resourcing of the Police. His valuable contribution earned him the appointment as the Board Chairman of the National Road Safety Commission (2017–2020) under H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo. In this role, he spearheaded the transformation of the Commission into an Authority within three years—an initiative that had stalled for over a decade. He further led the development and implementation of key strategic road safety policies and oversaw a total organizational overhaul that made the authority effective and competitive.

Over the years, Dr. Awudu has trained, moderated, chaired, and presented papers on road safety, business development, leadership, governance, and social development for academia, public, and private organizations. He is a firm believer in servant leadership, corporate governance, teamwork, strong moral values, integrity, ethics, marital and family values, discipline, dedication, and networking as critical tools for effective organizational development and the achievement of goals.

He has delivered lectures, presentations, and keynote addresses across multiple platforms, including the Harvard School Symposium on Sexual Abuse (“Sexual Abuse: A Focus on Ghana”), Pentecost University School of Business (Leadership Panel), GIMPA Business School (Visiting Lecturer), and JOSPONG Group of Companies (Strategic Business Development and Leadership Training for top management). He has also served as Speaker and Panel Member at the 11th Transform Summit. Beyond this, he has chaired important national and international meetings such as the Drafting of the Ghana Road Safety Authority Bill in Accra, the 9th Technical Session AGM of the West Africa Road Safety Organization (WARSO) in Dakar, Senegal, the 10th Technical Session AGM of WARSO in Accra, and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research Conference at the Kofi Annan Training Institute in Ghana.

His thought leadership is further reflected in his writings. He has published numerous articles in Ghanaian newspapers and on his WordPress blog, including The Leadership Pyramid, The Importance of Policy in Corporate Governance (Parts 1 & 2), Time-Tested and Commendation of Leadership: COVID-19, and My Thoughts on Road Fatalities in Ghana and the Way Forward. He has also authored books on marriage, leadership, and church development, available on Amazon.

Dr. Awudu’s impact has been recognized with numerous awards and citations. He has received the Young Professional Role Model in Youth Empowerment & Mentorship Award, Outstanding Board Chairman Award by the Business Executives Ghana, and was named one of the 100 Most Influential Personalities in Ghana by the Business Executives. Additional recognitions include citations for excellent and brilliant delivery as a Visiting Lecturer at GIMPA and Pentecost University, an honorary citation by KHARIS rMEDIA Group Ghana, an award for his passion for Christendom and leadership writing, and the title of Baron Customer Relation Sector by the Business Executives Ghana.

He is also a World Peace Ambassador of the World Peace Tracts, a former Board Member of Youth for Christ Ghana (YFC), and Patron of Accident Victim Support (AVS). He is affiliated with the Institute of Directors Ghana as a certified member and serves as an Independent Consultant for Wealth Masters Group UK.
